'Come from away' is a popular Newfoundland saying describing someone who isn't from Newfoundland. It is also the name of a popular Broadway musical based on the events of 911 when 38 planes were forced to land at Gander airport and how the locals housed, fed and comforted approx 7000 people until it was safe to travel again.
